Music Clubs

One of the cities where Tibetan youths have come in search of work is Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. This video highlights two different music clubs owned by Tibetans who have moved to Chengdu: 1) Dromala Musicspace, where Buchung, Pelgye, and Namchen work, and where Ogyen Tenzin performs on stage; and 2) Makye Ame, one of the oldest Tibetan restaurants, where Sonam performs as a singer. The video illustrates some of the ways in which Tibetans are seeking new opportunities in the cities, while also trying to maintain and sustain their traditional cultures.
