Located in Fulton, Maryland, the Green Farmacy is Dr. Duke’s garden dedicated to the planting and nurturing of medicinal herbs. The garden hosts three hundred native and non-native plant species that have either been used traditionally or are currently being researched for their medicinal potential.
The Green Farmacy is called “a teaching garden” as Dr. Duke and his wife Peggy welcome visitors to learn about the plants and their potential for preventing ailments and diseases. A tour of the garden is sometimes followed by a bowl of soup prepared by Dr. Duke himself that includes herbs and vegetables harvested from the garden. Students doing independent research and the general public are welcome to the garden.
