  • Apply for a Funded Summer Internship in Our Archives

We are excited to announce a new funded summer internship. The Rinzler Folklife Archives Summer Internship offers one intern per summer the opportunity to explore and discover cultural heritage and gain professional experience working in a living archive.

The Rinzler intern will work in collaboration with archives staff to arrange, describe, and digitize collections in the Ralph Rinzler Folklife Archives and Collections in Washington, D.C. The intern may also work with content in our digital asset management system and contribute to finding aids by applying collections management best practices.

The Ralph Rinzler Folklife Archives and Collections consist of papers, photographs, and audiovisual media. It includes curatorial, ethnographic, and programmatic content associated with the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, the nonprofit record label Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, and more.

This competitive internship is made possible through the generous support of the Scott and Dorothy Odell Internship Fund. The stipend is $300 per week for a ten-week, full-time internship. The deadline for applications for this summer is March 31, 2016. Learn more here.
