John Reynolds Collection

John Reynolds is a prominent Huddie Ledbetter, known as Lead Belly, archivist and historian. Together with Lead Belly’s niece Tiny Robinson, he co-edited the book Lead Belly: A Life in Pictures, published in 2008. Reynolds donated his Lead Belly related materials, collected over nearly a lifetime of research, to the Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage in 2014. The collection, which dates from 1870-2014, includes correspondence and other documents, photographs, and recordings created during and after Lead Belly’s lifetime, as well as Reynold’s own materials (papers, photographs, and AV) relating to his years of research on Lead Belly.
